1. Bungee Jumping Off the Bridge
You can’t visit Livingstone without feeling a little bit wild, and what better way to do that than by throwing yourself off a bridge at 111 meters above the Zambezi River? The bridge connecting Zambia and Zimbabwe is a popular spot for bungee jumping, offering heart-stopping thrills with the river below you. Whether you scream like a banshee or gracefully leap into the void with a zen-like calm (who are we kidding, you’ll scream), it’s an experience you won’t forget.
It’s cheaper than therapy and certainly more exciting!
2. Zambezi Sunset River Cruise
For a more serene experience (and for those who prefer to keep their feet on solid ground), why not enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River? Relax with a cold drink in hand while watching elephants, hippos, and crocodiles mingle with the golden hues of the setting sun. Who needs the drama of the falls when you can have a front-row seat to nature’s grandeur, all while sipping something delicious?
Ideal for those who enjoy sunsets, food and free-flowing drinks.

3. Livingstone Museum
Okay, we’re getting cultured here, people! The Livingstone Museum is a gem that gives you the inside scoop on the history of the area, from the fascinating life of David Livingstone to the diverse cultures of Zambia’s indigenous tribes. It’s the perfect place to geek out on Zambia’s heritage, with artefacts, art, and all sorts of intriguing bits of history. Plus, the Livingstone Museum is literally only a few steps from the Jollyboys Backpackers front gate.
Bonus: It’s air-conditioned, perfect for cooling off after all that adrenaline.
4. Elephant Café
If seeing elephants was a top ticket item on your trip to Africa, then the Elephant Café is your dream destination. Located on the banks of the Zambezi River, this experience allows you to interact with rescued elephants in a peaceful and ethical setting. You’ll not only get to feed and take pictures with these gentle giants, but you can also enjoy a delicious meal (depending on the experience booked) while watching them graze nearby. It’s a perfect family-friendly experience where you’ll learn about elephant conservation efforts while having a blast getting up close and personal with these majestic creatures.
Worth every penny to be able to say you had tea with an elephant!

5. Mukuni Village Cultural Tour
Visit Mukuni Village, where you can learn about the rich traditions and customs of the Leya people. With a dedicated guide, explore their huts, witness traditional dances, and maybe even try some local cuisine. It’s a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture while supporting the local community.
Plus, you can buy a few cool souvenirs directly from the source and have a story or two to tell.
6. Horseback Safari
Got a desire to explore the African wilderness in style? Embark on a horseback safari in Livingstone. Riding along the river, you’ll experience the landscape like never before, meandering through vegetation, bushland, and open plains. The rhythm of your horse’s hooves and the vast scenery create a truly immersive adventure, offering a unique perspective on the natural beauty of the area.
And yes, you’ll feel like a safari hero.
7. Rafting on the Zambezi
If you’ve ever dreamed of tackling some of the most thrilling rapids in the world, then rafting on the Zambezi is calling your name. This adrenaline-pumping activity takes you right into the heart of the river below Victoria Falls, where you’ll face Grade 5 rapids (that’s near expert-level white-water, folks). Hold on tight as you navigate through wild, frothy waters with your team of fellow adventurers. Whether you’re paddling furiously or clinging to the boat while laughing nervously, the Zambezi will give you a ride you’ll never forget. It’s big water, but it’s also an ideal river for rafting nubies with warm water and lovely pools after each rapid.
It’s the ultimate roller coaster, without the seatbelt.

8. Livingstone’s Nightlife
Who says adventure has to end at sundown? Livingstone has a quirky nightlife scene. Whether it’s chilling at a local pub with a cold Mosi beer or enjoying live music at one of the lively restaurants, there’s something for everyone. Just be ready for the friendly locals who might challenge you to a dance-off.
Free to wander, but be prepared to spend on the occasional drink or two and we recommend getting a taxi home.
9. Livingstone Island and Victoria Falls (Yes, we had to!)
Alright, we couldn’t leave out Victoria Falls, but here’s the twist: Instead of just witnessing the falls from the different viewpoints in the park, book onto a tour of Livingstone Island, and experience swimming on the edge of the falls! You can get up close to the thundering waters and, if you’re feeling adventurous, take a dip in the famous Devil’s Pool, perched right at the brink of the falls. Depending on the time of year, different pools are open… Angel’s Pool also offers stunning views, making it a perfect spot for a more relaxed but equally breathtaking adventure.
Go ahead, be a tourist for a bit, it’s SO worth it.

10. Chobe National Park camping safari (Botswana)

Want to explore a hidden gem? How about walking along the Zambezi Railway track that connects Zambia to Zimbabwe? You’ll get to enjoy a leisurely stroll through local villages, and maybe even meet some friendly locals along the way. Just don’t linger too long next to the track, It’s still an active railway!
Free, but proceed with caution and respect the locals!
12. The Big Tree near Mukuni
Feeling a little spiritual? Head towards Mukuni, where you’ll find a centuries-old baobab tree, the “Big Tree.” Locals believe this tree holds mystical powers, and visiting it is said to bring blessings. It’s a fantastic stop for some quiet reflection or a great photo op.
